We are seeking a Java SME to join our team at NCG. In this role, you will serve as the expert on Java technologies and be responsible for identifying, assessing, and interviewing Java developer candidates for various client projects.

Java Subject Matter Expert Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with project managers and account executives to understand specific client project needs and required Java skillsets
• Leverage your network and recruiting channels to source qualified Java developer candidates that meet project requirements
• Conduct initial screening calls and interviews to evaluate Java candidates' technical abilities in areas like Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST APIs, microservices, etc.
• Assess candidates' hands-on Java coding skills through code reviews, technical assessments and programming exercises  
• Determine overall fit for open roles based on technical experience, communication abilities and cultural alignment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with IT project managers at client organizations to support ongoing Java recruiting needs
• Stay up-to-date on the latest Java technologies and frameworks to effectively assess candidate skills

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Java and related web frameworks
• Solid understanding of Java ecosystems and tooling like Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven, etc.
• Experience conducting technical interviews, screening calls and assessing Java developer candidates 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for staying on top of the latest advancements in Java and JVM languages
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
