AS/400 Developer

Job Overview:  

We are seeking a skilled AS/400 Developer to join our team. The AS/400 Developer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications on the AS/400 platform. This role will collaborate closely with business analysts, system administrators, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements. 

Responsibilities  

• Contribute as a senior developer to key, strategic and other projects of WMIS Operations Division  
• Propose efficient technical solutions and programming design  
• Write technical specifications (RPG or COBOL/400)  
• Do development and unit testing in RPG or COBOL/400  
• Prepare necessary project documentation and other quality deliverables  
• Prepare technical deliveries and packaging  
• Provide technical support document to Production teams  
• Provide warranty support / post-production implementation support  
• Adhere to WMIS project and support governance  
• Provide on-call night batch support for Olympic Asia EOD as per support roster schedule.  
• Provide Level 3 full-time support for Olympic Asia as per support schedule. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
• Proven experience in AS/400 application development, including RPG and CL programming. 
• Strong knowledge of DB2 database management on the AS/400 platform. 
• Experience with software testing and debugging. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
• Effective communication and teamwork skills. 
• AS/400 certification (optional, but a plus). 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with modernization techniques for AS/400 applications, such as web services or mobile application development. 
• Knowledge of AS/400 security and compliance best practices. 
• Familiarity with IBM iSeries Navigator and other AS/400 administration tools.
